Travel Centre

Need information on any aspect of travel in Africa? Need advice on where to go, what to see and do? Just come and ask our friendly staff!

The Backpack & Africa Travel Centre can book your overland safari, day tours, car rentals and assist with planning your trip in Cape Town and throughout South Africa and Africa.

Bar and Cafe

We have a stunning bar and cafe with awesome views of Table Mountain. All our food is fresh and cooked with love. Start your day with a full breakfast and great coffee! The menu also includes home-made burgers, fresh pasta and salads, pizzas and daily specials.

Our bar is fully licensed for those African party nights. You can play backgammon or chess on our custom built mosaic tables or just hang out next to the fire during the brief Winter season.

Swimming pool

Stunning views from our sparkling pool – lounge about, order cocktails or fruit shakes and soak up the sun and views. The mosaics on the walls were designed by one of Cape Town’s most sought after artists and were made as part of a community project.

Internet

We have Wi-Fi throughout the building and an Internet Cafe with broadband. Upon checking in you will receive 10MB free per day with an option to purchase additional vouchers at reception. The internet cafe is open 24/7 with webcams and headphones for your use.

Parking

24 hour guarded parking in front of our entrance. We have closed circuit cameras facing the car park too. Please note for those privileged to have a car, the guards welcome R20.00 a night to ensure the safety of your car.

Safes and Luggage

All our private rooms and luxury 4 bed dorms have a free safe in their room. If you are in an 8 bed dormitory, you may use a safe with your own code (no keys) and have access to your belongings whenever you wish for only R50, regardless of how long you stay. You may store your luggage if you are going away for R10.00 per day.
